Accessibility Statement
This statement was last updated on 10/02/2026
I am working to make this site: empowermentalhealth.ca accessible to people with disabilities. The website is still under construction while I figure out any glitches and continue to work to fix any accessibility issues.
What web accessibility is
An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.
Accessibility adjustments on this site
This site's contents have been adapted to work with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard use. As part of this effort, I have done the following:
-
Used the Accessibility Wizard to find and fix potential accessibility issues
-
Set the language of the site
-
Set the content order of the site’s pages
-
Defined clear heading structures on all of the site’s pages
-
Added alternative text to images
-
Implemented color combinations that meet the required color contrast
-
Reduced the use of motion on the site
-
Ensured all videos, audio, and files on the site are accessible
Accessibility arrangements in the organization [only add if relevant]
Physical accessibility for workshops conducted in-person depend on the location of the workshop and are not the responsibility of Varainja Stock. However, when workshops take place in person, every effort is made to provide clear information (as provided by the location) as to the level of accessibility and availability of accessible amenities. Efforts are also made to hold in-person workshops in accessible locations in the community in line with the needs of intended participants and availability of locations. If you are concerned about accessibility and have accessibility requirements in order to participate in a workshop, please ensure these are communicated directly with the facilitator and in-advance so that all attempts can be made to ensure you are able to fully participate.
