Storage of personal information
The personal information collected through this website is hosted on secure servers that may be located outside Quebec. This information is limited to any forms you complete directly on EmpowerMentalHealth.ca and the “cookies” used by Wix (the website host) to maintain the website and your experience of it.
Any information you share directly while receiving services (workshops, individual counselling) are stored on a password protected hard drive and are subject to the confidentiality policy as outlined in your informed consent and available HERE. Any other information transmitted electronically in writing through email or text messaging is stored on those servers which are password protected and subject to the privacy policies explicit to those providers. All measures are taken to ensure your information is kept confidential and private.
How long is your personal information kept?
This depends on whether you engage in workshops or individual counselling or just submit a request for information. If you submit a request for information but decide not to receive services, you can request that your information be deleted at any time. If you engage in services - either workshops or individual counselling, your information may be kept for up to 10 years following your discontinuation of services, length of time is determined by the applicable regulatory bodies (professional orders) regarding the storage of health records. After that time, your information will be securely destroyed.
